hi, the popular crypto & fiat financial banking platform has launched the world’s first-ever NFT avatar customisable debit card, powered by global payment service Mastercard. The new hi debit card will allow eligible cardholders to personalize the face of their card with an NFT avatar. To do so, cardholders must prove they verifiably own the corresponding NFT. With this new card, holders can spend at more than 90 million locations worldwide where Mastercard is accepted.
Customisable NFT debit cards are here!
The new hi Debit Mastercard is available now and comes in six different variants with benefits based on membership tiers. These tiers are Basic, Black, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond.
It is simple to use and allows the cardholder to spend traditional fiat currency and various cryptocurrencies. To become a member, you need to join the waitlist and stake or buy hi’s native token, HI, which costs less than €10.
The hi Debit Card is available to members in 25+ EEA countries and the UK. However, there are plans to roll it out worldwide soon.
“Not only do the NFT cards look amazing, this is a great way for people to show which online community they belong to, but in the real world,” says Sean Rach, Co-founder of hi. “The flexibility to spend fiat, stablecoins or other crypto, combined with attractive financial and lifestyle rewards, makes us confident that our card is a game-changer in the market.”
What NFTs can you use on your card?
The customisable option for the NFT debit card is only available to Gold members. This feature allows cardholders to choose their favourite NFT to put on their debit card. To keep the property rights of others safe, the NFT has to be verified by the hi team.
So far, there is a limited range of NFT collections that are customisable for debit card holders. These are CryptoPunks, Moonbirds, Goblins, Bored Apes, Azuki, and others.
