The long-awaited mint for y00ts’ t00b NFTs, initially scheduled for September 4th, was delayed. Accordingly, the team ran into a “blocker bug” five minutes before starting the minting session. The project founders promised to bring minting live 24 hours after the initial date.
While the team is trying to solve all of the issues, DeGods’ founder Frank is trying to apologize – but what is the NFT community’s reaction?
Why did y00ts delay their NFT mint?
The y00ts NFT mint is undoubtedly one of the most awaited drops of this season. Collectors have been applying to their scholarship whitelist program for months, hoping to gain a spot. Only accepted individuals got the chance to mint t00bs – the NFTs required in order to mint y00ts.
Basically, everybody was waiting for the minting day on September 4th at 2 pm PST.
As the minting day arrived, though, so have problems for the y00ts founding team at DeGods. To begin with, the team had to postpone minting by 24 hours due to what they called a “blocker bug”.
“Due to the nature of this bug, we do not feel comfortable bringing the mint live right now,” they tweeted. “The mint will likely be around 24 hours from now.”
In other words, y00ts canceled their long-awaited NFT mint only five minutes before it should’ve gone live.
What did DeGods’ founder Frank say about the delay?
On September 5th, the y00ts founder known as Frank DeGods brought up the event in a Twitter thread:
“I’m disappointed in myself and our team, but I’m not worried,” he wrote. “Tangibly none of our plans changed today… just a serious wake-up call on how severely we need to fix this delaying issue.”
In addition, Frank promised all collectors that the y00ts NFT mint will be a remarkable experience. He also mentioned that the team has a few exciting announcements to reveal soon.
So far, the project received mixed reactions from its NFT community. Some collectors kept their hopes high, while others seemed less-than-happy about the postponed mint.
Either way, all eyes are on y00ts as the accepted scholarship applicants are eagerly waiting to start minting their t00b NFTs.
What is y00ts?
In short, y00ts is a collection of 15,000 avatar-style NFTs living on the Solana blockchain. The project comes from the creators of DeGods, the most successful Solana NFT collectibles to date.
