Argentine Tax Authorities crackdown on unregistered crypto mining is expanding to residential properties. Authorities shut down an illegal bitcoin (BTC) mining farm in a “high-end” block of apartments in an upscale part of La Plata, Buenos Aires province.

But the latest bust saw authorities raid the apartment, where they said they found a functioning and unregistered bitcoin mining rig connected to the internet. The rigs were concealed inside a “container” that was hidden on the roof of the complex, the AFIP said.
Officials said the hardware included about 180 “video cards used for bitcoin mining”. He claimed that the market value of the equipment was “in excess of $45,000,000”. He also claimed that the crypto mining rigs had been operational for “more than eight months” before being discovered.
