It describes the use of NFTs in gaming, specifically creating in-game assets as well as any changes to them, including their presence and ownership.

The document states that some games allow the use of digital assets during gameplay, but these are traditionally optional and indistinguishable from each other – no matter how rare they are, explaining:
“Thus, in traditional video games, any digital asset is not unique from other instances of the same in-game item. Consequently, in traditional video games, there is no way to know, track, or authenticate the history of any particular instance of an in-game item.” There is no way to do this. For example, in traditional video games, there is no way to distinguish a specific instance of an in-game item, that of a famous player of a video game, from any other instance of an in-game item. Uses to win a famous tournament.”
